Both of these photos have a list of the people in them. They appear to be two photos of the same people/same day but the info conflicts. The following information is from the back of the second picture.
Back row (from left): Charlie Corbett, Charlie Crandall, Angus Corbett, Bill Murphy, Will Rosander, Billy MacDonald
Front row (from left): Hedley Fulton, Billy Finley, Jack MacKay, Graham Giddens
Winter of 1907 Ferguson Davison taught 16 Bass River men to read music; in the following spring (1908) money was raised by community effort, instruments bought , and Fred (saw?) Londonderry mines engaged for a few months to train the men; William Murphy was band master. In less than a year the men became famous and always remembered, as Bass River Brass Band.
This photo was taken about 1915. Others in band were: Pearman Fulton, Charlie MacLaughlin, Norman Corbett, Leavers Corbett, George Urquhart, Fred Finley , Alfred Wright, James Starratt.
(At various times , of course some left to go to work, etc.)
